“Think of success as a game of chance in which you have control over the odds. As you begin to master concepts in personal achievement, you are increasing your odds of achieving success.”
— Bo Bennett, Author

I imagine that you may have seen this clip before, but I have to tell you that it’s more applicable now than ever.

Tony talks about managing emotion and state of mind.  If you, like most of the world right now, find that your emotional state seems to run up and down like a rogue rollercoaster, you’ll probably appreciate this clip!

Warm Regards…

Michelle Novak joined my mortgage company team earlier this year and I’ve been very impressed by the quality of her ideas…

Here’s a video that gives you a “real, live” look over her shoulder to watch as a fun and very successful community even unfolds.

Now that this one is under her belt, I know she has some other really fun stuff planned for the holiday season coming up on us (I’ve heard hints of a Santa Claus party for kids at a local coffee shop…wow…stay tuned!).

Here’s the video I shot with Michelle last Saturday in Mountain Home, Idaho.

Thanks for sharing your great ideas with us, Michelle!

Sorry to have been absent with new posts for a while!  Things have been busy.

Even with all the crazy times in the mortgage world, I’ve been doing plenty of business with folks who are taking advantage of the lower prices to get screaming deals on homes.

Anyway, here’s a little encouraging story by video.  I don’t sell stuff on the Jackalope Club very much, so just realize that I’m excited to share this with you.

Check it out…

PS…I find myself getting an average of about a phone call or email PER DAY from past clients or referrals.  Sure, in today’s tight market, I can’t do a loan for every one of them, but…the phone is ringing!

Here we go…

It’s easy to see the news.  It’s everywhere.  We’re all affected by it–even if we don’t really spend any time watching TV news reports.  I, for example, really never watch any of the talking heads on TV.  My financial news usually comes through the Mortgage Market Guide .

So, today I shot a video in my offices (if you look closely, you can see the MMG bond market charts over my shoulder on the big projection screen).  The purpose of this short clip is to let my clients, friends, referral partners, and others see that I am on top of what’s happening out there and that there is good news buried in all the craziness.

Beyond posting this clip on YouTube and pushing it out on this blog, I will embed the YouTube link into an email and send it out to my contacts using Velma.com’s new (beta testing right now) email capability!

Without further ado, here’s the clip…   Enjoy your weekend.  Get some rest.  Be happy.

“Heroism consists of hanging on one minute longer.”
— Norwegian Proverb

Ok, I’m a little biased toward today’s quote because my ancestors are Norwegian seamen.

In fact, I’m posting the trailer for the movie “A Perfect Storm” right now.

If you’ve seen the film, you may wonder how this is a Jackalope-worthy clip.

Well, I’ll tell you…I was so inspired by watching George Clooney courageously manning the helm of his little ship!  He was “going for it” even in the face of odds that most people would have said, “NO WAY I’m going to make it.  I’ll just let the waves take me down.”

Not George Clooney’s character.  He employed every resource and every single shred of positive energy he had.  It’s his courage and intensity that inspire me to greater action today.

So, anyway…I wish you a day filled with passion and optimism.

PS…what other lessons do you see in this film?
